Set against the titanic presence of greenery and scenic splendour, the sprawling precincts of Army Public School Barrackpore located within one kilometre from Barrackpore Railway Station oozes out oodles of energy and pious stillness that the sweeping breeze emanating from the tributary of Hooghly sends across. Having set sail on its journey on 1st April in the August year of 1998 with the enterprising crew comprising 20 teaching faculty members and 07 non – teaching staff, the surging aspiration to gamble with the turbulent circumstances made Army Public School Barrackpore float on the crest of gigantic waves under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES); the plumage of Army Public School Barrackpore continued to shine on the horizon with vigour hither to unheard of with the affiliation of CBSE being conferred on the institution initially up to Class-X on 23 November 1998 and finally up to Class XII on 09 Sep 2002.

Today Army Public School Barrackpore has curved a niche for itself as one of the Senior Secondary Army Public Schools par excellence in the Eastern Command. The School had had the prerogative of being adjudged the Best Senior Secondary School in the Eastern Command. A quantum leap as the school has had, the school is now geared up to scale a higher limit, the enthusiastic strength of about 3700 students approximately nurtured by 130 pedagogues and 63 non – teaching staff contingent boosted by the leadership qualities of the present Principal Dr. Moitreyee Mukherjee. The school has three streams to offer in the Senior Secondary Level -Science, Humanities & Commerce.
